ADI Mumbai Making Design Visible
2018

 Making Design Visible was a joint initiative between ADI Mumbai and the students of ISDI Parsons, Mumbai, and Pearl Academy, Mumbai, with the intent of recognising and promoting good design. The event kickstarted a recognition for design-driven innovation in the urban environment.

With an intent to address problems for a brighter futureand to encourage and enable generation of ideas for a better future, Dell EMC announced a one-of-a kind design challenge, Dell Designathon. This 24 hour design challenge was a platform to showcase participant’s creative prowess without technological limitations and exhibit their vision for the world in the year 2030. Director Gary Grewal was  Juror for the prestigious Dell Designathon 2017 awards.

For the first time, the four supporting trends were mapped by intangible representations through various performances. First declared in 2007 by the World Design Organization™ (WDO) for its 50th anniversary, WIDD increases awareness of the profession of industrial design and champions the power of design to strengthen economic, social, cultural, and environmental development. A Conversation with designers including EuMo Founder Director, Harkaran Singh Grewal was hosted which was shared through Facebook Live sessions.

The annual Smart Cities India 2015 expo in May 2015 was a three-day event for participants from India and abroad to showcase products, services and solutions for smart cities.

Khushnam Polad from Eumo participated in the expo at Delhi and presented a hypothetical case study of an ideal smart city and the role of participatory branding and smart signage on communication with the people and businesses of the city.

ISDI Mumbai Design Festival 2015

Indian School of Design Innovation, ISDI Parsons organised its debut season of ISDI Mumbai Design Festival 2015. The idea was to celebrate Indian design and creativity in all forms. Shanoo Bhatia, Founder Director, Eumo, was invited to present her work among other industry experts like Sudarshan Dheer, Bandana Tewari, Anusha Yadav, Vishal Anand, Dolly Thakore and Arzan Khambatta. Her talk “Nothing Like A Free Size” emphasised how design should be crafted to respond to micro-communities and cannot be applied as a broad-brush, one-size fits all solution.

Eumo worked with ISDI PARSONS to create a unique brand identity that reflects a school which integrates design education and business thinking into a successful model of growth. Eumo designed the entire launch campaign to set the course of growth for the brand hence instantly connecting with the audience and creating a memorable brand experience.

Indian School of Design and Innovation represented by Dr. Indu Shahani along with the President of Parsons The New School, David E. Van Zandt successfully launched – ISDI Parsons Mumbai in the presence of the brightest design students and industry stalwarts in the city.

 India Salon & Wellness Pro presented the international trade show. Shanoo Bhatia, Founder Director, Eumo, was invited to present some of her projects, to showcase how developing a brand experience helps improve the retail and customer experience. 

The first project was Lakme and he second project was Kaya, where Eumo was given a mandate to create a new retail identity to communicate the repositioning of the Kaya brand from a medical expertise brand to a consumer brand which capitalizes on beauty through expertise.

Climb K2, organised by the Art & Design Department of The Sophia Polytechnic, is a visual communication seminar held for students across various art colleges in and around Mumbai. Shanoo Bhatia, Founder Director, Eumo, presented SHIFT YOUR THINKING, an evaluation of design thinking trends that are shifting the perception of design in the market, from merely cosmetic to a deep, cognitive process of discovery and creation that has the power to change lives. To support her arguments, she presented an array of work by Eureka Moment, that illustrated each conceptual shift in thinking.

CNBC Awaaz TV Channel invited Industry specialists for a live discussion, where Founder Director, Eureka Moment, Shanoo Bhatia joined the group as panelist to speak on Shop Operations and Display hosted by the channel to debate the role of design in developing Kirana store retail. There was a lively exchange between our Director and Mr. Harish Bijoor, who was of the opinion that design does not have a role to play in bettering Kirana Stores, as opposed to our Director suggesting that design coupled with design thinking, in organising products into fast-moving versus perishable items and accessibility to the products, decluttering point-of-purchase and smart retail display could help Kirana Stores succeed in an environment threatened by large malls and modern trade.
