About the Event
World Industrial Design Day (WIDD) is celebrated throughout the world on 29th June. First declared in 2007 by the World Design Organization™ (WDO) for its 50th anniversary, WIDD increases awareness of the profession of industrial design and champions the power of design to strengthen economic, social, cultural, and environmental development.
Our celebration, links industrial design to the global theme for WIDD 2017, Thinking Outside the Box, and focuses on UN Sustainable Development Goal: Responsible Consumption & Production and Role of Design in Manufacturing Sustainability.

The Panel Discussions
A Conversation with designers was hosted which was shared through Facebook Live sessions. Different groups of designers addressed questions pertaining to design & sustainability with an aim to raise awareness of industrial design and its role in effecting positive change through Responsible Consumption and Production. The panelists also answered questions by the public post each session. Prior to the event an intensive social media campaign was launched on platforms like Facebook & Twitter where designers were asked specific questions and their responses were posted.
