There was a lively exchange between our Director and Mr. Harish Bijoor, who was of the opinion that design does not have a role to play in bettering Kirana Stores, as opposed to our Director suggesting that design coupled with design thinking, in organising products into fast-moving versus perishable items and accessibility to the products, decluttering point-of-purchase and smart retail display could help Kirana Stores succeed in an environment threatened by large malls and modern trade.
